Abstract
RDS Barra do Una comprises an important area for ethnopharmacological studies, which aim to research medicinal plants for therapeutic use for various pathologies. Studies using this approach are relevant, as they help to collect important data on the Brazilian flora of medicinal plants, and can assist in future research, evaluating the proof of their efficacy and toxicity. The objective of this work was to verify the medicinal plants most used by the community of RDS Barra do Una, carry out validation in consultations with the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia and analyze whether there is scientific confirmation in the literature for the therapeutic indications reported by the interviewees. The research was carried out with 50 interviewees, where a higher incidence of the Lamiaceae family was observed, with eight species having pharmacological validation by the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia and 14 without validation, and this research could serve as a basis for new ethnopharmacology studies in the Peruibe region.
