Abstract

This article aims to demonstrate how animal welfare rules impact scientific research. The adoption of techniques and procedures that aim to reduce or minimize pain and stress in animal handling in scientific research ensures greater reliability of the results. Compromising animal welfare has several consequences that are relevant to the reliability of the data.
