Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate preliminarily the water quality of the micro-watershed (analysis "in loco"), the Ecological Station Jureia-Itatins (EEJI), Core Arpoador, and verify that human activities are harming the quality water conservation unit. Ten (10) points to increased exposure to anthropogenic activities were chosen for analysis (section 01,02 and 03 - Trail Fundão) (01,02 Point, 3a, 3b and 4 - Trail of hoses); (Point 01 - kitchen sink) and (Point 01 - external tank). Analyses of water, measuring the following variables: salinity, temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids and dissolved oxygen, besides using the IQA - Water Quality Index Simplified, indicating the main pollution risks from micro-watershed basin. The most worrying environmental impacts were recorded in the area in environmental sanitation deficiency (presence of domestic effluents) and also the lack of drinking water disinfection allowing exposure of the community and visitors to potential waterborne diseases. Given this, the work in question can be used as an aid in discussions to plan actions for the protection of the micro-watershed EEJI.
