HERBARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY OF THE FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY CIÊNCIAS E LETRAS DE RIBEIRÃO PRETO, SÃO PAULO (SPFR) Milton Groppo, Cíntia Erbert

Abstract

 The Herbarium of the Department of Biology, Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Literature of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (SPFR) was founded in 1985; currently having 16,005 exsiccate, most of most them from Semideciduous Forest and Brazilian savannah (“cerrado”) fragments, as well as from rocky outcrop vegetation (“campos rupestres”) areas of South of Minas Gerais. Leguminosae is the most recorded family, but other families (as Asteraceae, Moraceae, Rubiaceae, Rutaceae, and Sapindaceae have shown a recent expansion in the records. The Herbarium SPFR was recently registered in the Species Link network and the digitalization of the records is underway.
