HERBARY OF THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF ABC, SÃO PAULO (HUFABC) Andréa Onofre de Araujo, Luana de Souza Prochazka

Abstract

The Herbarium of the Universidade Federal do ABC (HUFABC) started its activities in the first half of 2014 and in March 2015 it was registered in the Index Herbariorum, the first in the ABC Paulista region. This herbarium has about 300 records from 14 Brazilian States; São Paulo and Goiás are the most representative. Part of the collection is associated with DNA samples which are used in studies of Systematics and Evolution. The most representative families are Gesneriaceae (40%) and Fabaceae (8%). All herbarium specimens are registered in the BRAHMS software, they are being digitalized and soon will be available online.
