Main Article Content
Abstract
The herbarium of the Plantarum Botanical Garden (HPL) was established in 2002 with the purpose of serving as dry material depositary related to the books published by the Instituto Plantarum. Currently, aligned with other biological collections, it is a source of scientific and educational content for the development of research and various activities conducted by the botanical gar11den. The HPL has about 14,000 registered specimens in its collection. It has 74 nomenclatural types, of which 26 are holotypes, mostly belonging to Arecaceae family. The large presence of nomenclatural types in the collection attests the importance assumed by HPL throughout its brief history.
