HERBARY OF THE FACULTY OF TEACHER TRAINING OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE STATE OF RIO DE JANEIRO, RIO DE JANEIRO (RFFP) Ana Angélica Monteiro de Barros, Marcelo Guerra Santos

Abstract

The Faculdade de Formação de Professores da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro herbarium (RFFP), the collection area and type specimens, as well as its projects and contributions to the flora of the Rio de Janeiro Atlantic Forest are presented here. The RFFP herbarium currently has 17.200 records and four type specimens. The collection is represented by angiosperms (81,93%), ferns (13.17%), bryophytes (3.07%),  fungi (1.46%), algae (0.36%) and gymnosperms (0.01%). The municipalities of Rio de Janeiro state most represented in the collection are Niterói (35.6%), Angra dos Reis (10.3%), Engenheiro Paulo de Frontin (9.51%), São Gonçalo (9.47%), Santa Maria Madalena (7.72%), Nova Iguaçu (5.42%), Maricá (5.16%) and Magé (3.65%).
