HERBARIUM UBERLANDENSE, MINAS GERAIS (HUFU) Rosana Romero

Abstract

 The HUFU herbarium has 70,000 specimens, mainly of Angiosperms. The herbarium assists several graduate programs in Brazil and overseas through its exchange program doing loans, donations and/or exchanges of botanical specimens to other national and international herbaria, mainly of Asteraceae and Melastomataceae families. The functioning of HUFU herbarium is under responsibility of a curator, a herbarium technical and two assistant technical, responsible for preparation, inclusion and maintenance of herbarium specimens in the collection. In June 2015 started the scanning process, whose aim is to make available ca. 2,000 herbarium specimens images per month in Virtual Herbarium Reflora.
