Abstract

The Herbarium Lyman Bradford Smith (HLBS) covers their collections in the Atlantic Forest biome, especially the region of the coastal zone of the State of Santa Catarina, in addition to the region of Vale do Itajaí and the State of Santa Catarina. The herbarium consists about 3.005 records of vascular plants of Santa Catarina and other Brazilian states, a greater percentage of angiosperms. The herbarium has a small collection of seeds and woods. The pattern of collections takes place through research conducted by the Coastal Studies Laboratory vegetation, as well as donations.
