Abstract
The Herbarium ICN has a rich collection of flora specimens of southern Brazil, especially of the Rio Grande do Sul state. With about 170,000 specimens, the collection contains dried samples of vascular and avascular plants, macroscopic fungi, lichenized fungi and algae in liquid culture and on sheets. Currently, more than 100,000 records are available online, as well as images of the type collection. The ICN also contributes to scientific dissemination in the community, participating in extension activities to receive visitors from local schools and general public.
