Abstract

The Embrapa Clima Temperado (ECT) herbarium, its collection area, nomenclatural types, and contributions to the knowledge of the temperate climate flora of South Brazil are presented. The ECT currently has 4,056 records of plants. The collection does not contain public digitized information, although until 2016 the data will be available online. The specimens are mostly voucher specimens of gene bank accessions, vouchers of academic papers, as well as samples from floristic inventories. There are six type specimens (all isotypes) and five paratypes.
