HERBARY OF THE PONTIFICAL CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF PARANÁ, PARANÁ (HUCP) Rodrigo de Andrade Kersten

Abstract

The history of the Herbarium of the Pontifical Catholic University of Parana's collection began in the middle 1970s with the Biology Museum and in April, 1979 the HUCP was founded. It was include, however, at the Index Herbariorum only in 1995 and at 1999, it was reallocated its current building. Currently, it encompasses more than 23,000 specimens. Most of the specimens comes from the state of Paraná but we also have specimens from all countries of the Southern Cone, Europe and North America. Currently the HUCP herbarium collection is under digitalization, but whit no deadline. The herbarium has an exchange policy and samples can be borrowed through the curator of the herbarium.
