PRISCO BEZERRA HERBARY, CEARÁ (EAC) Sarah Sued Gomes de Souza, Regina Celli Araújo de Freitas, Maria Iracema Bezerra Loiola

Abstract

The history of the Herbarium Prisco Bezerra (EAC), its importance, collection composition, works performed and target audience are presented here. The Herbarium EAC is registered in the Index Hebariorum and accredited as trustee of samples of components of genetic heritage. The collection which currently has approximately 58,000 specimens. The type collection comprises 57 samples distributed in 33 holotypes (of which 20 belong to Leguminosae), 8 isotypes, 15 paratypes and 1 syntype. All the collection is computerized by BRAHMS program and is available in sites specialized. The capture process of images was started in June/2015. This herbarium was responsible for receiving the collections of the National Forest Inventory realized in Ceará.
