RECÔNCAVO DA BAHIA HERBARY, BAHIA (HURB) Lidyanne Yuriko Saleme Aona, Grênivel Mota da Costa

Abstract

The Bahia Recôncavo region is historically one of the oldest areas of Brazil. The creation of the Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia - UFRB on July 29th 2005 along with its multicampi structure establishes interfaces with almost all municipalities. Thus, UFRB presents the Herbarium of the Recôncavo of Bahia, which houses the botanical and fungi collections. Here, the current local plant diversity is reported. The HURB herbarium, started in 2007, and now has 12,000 dried specimens with all the information gathered already computerized. The HURB aims to bring the UFRB of all the Recôncavo community within a space of education and knowledge where the academic population has access to knowledge, environmental education and contact with the Bahia plant diversity.
