HERBARY OF THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHWEST BAHIA, BAHIA (HUESB) Guadalupe Edilma Licona de Macedo

Abstract

The Herbarium at the Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia (HUESB) is shown here with his collection area, projects and contribution to the flora knowledge of the region where it is located, giving priority to the transition zone between the region of Caatinga and Atlantic Rainforest and the wide range of seasonal forest of southwest Bahia. The HUESB herbarium has about 11.435 plant records. There are records of several research projects as Floristic survey of the Municipality of Jequié, Floristic Composition and Physiognomic of seasonal forest fragments in southwest Bahia, Floristic survey of the Municipality of Maracas, Bahia Flora, Millennium Institute semi-arid Northeast and Atlantic Rainforest. Six type specimens, including: four holotype, an isotope with a paratype. The HUESB donate duplicates both for identification and for the expansion of other herbaria in Brazil.
