Abstract

The Herbarium of the State University of Feira de Santana (HUEFS) was founded in 1980. Actually, the herbarium covers an area of 754.28 m², with a collection of more than 216,000 samples. This collection put the HUEFS as the largest collection of Flowering Plants of the Northeast, and the eighth in the National ranking and second in number of online records. The collection basically comprises of angiosperms (198.000), ferns (2.649), algae (4.480), bryophytes (3.003), fungi (3.670) and gymnosperms (54). The number of deposited nomenclatural types is approximately 3,953 (total 2,315 images and 1.600 samples)
