Abstract

The herbarium of the Instituto de Estudos Costeiros da Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), Brazil (code HBRA), founded in 2002 to complement teaching and research activities at Campus Bragança of the UFPA , focuses on the collection of seed plants of the Amazon coastal region and of liverworts, mosses, clubmosses, horsetails and ferns of the Amazon as a whole. The collection includes today more than 9.000 herbarium sheets and samples in liquid preservative.
