The Amapaense Herbarium (HAMAB) represents the diversity of algae, fungi and plants of the State of Amapá, as well as their projects and contributions to the Amazon flora are shown here. The HAMAB has about 18,860 records of vascular plants and holds the largest collection of Amapá plants. Approximately 16,168 records are computerized and available on-line. In 1983 the herbarium was part of the Project Amazon Flora and Flora, a partnership between New York Botanical Garden and Brazilian research institutes. Since 2012 the HAMAB is part of the INCT Flora and Fungi of Brazil. The herbarium has 14 nomenclatural types: one holotype and 13 isotypes.
