Abstract

The Centro-Norte-Mato-Grossossense (CNMT) herbarium, from Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso (UFMT), was created in 2010, associated with the Acervo Biológico da Amazônia Meridional (ABAM), Instituto de Ciências Naturais, Humanas e Sociais. Currently, there are about 7,000 samples, predominantly flowering plants and ferns. 67.5% correspond to the Mato Grosso state, mainly collections arising from the Programa de Pesquisa em Biodiversidade (PPBio). In addition, the collection exists representation of species of Cerrado, Amazon Forest, Pantanal, Atlantic Forest and Caatinga. In addition to the research activities, the CNMT herbarium performs material exchanges with various national institutions and outreach activities aimed at school students to the knowledge of Mato Grosso flora.
