Abstract
Since the Creation of the Juréia-Itatins Ecological Station in 1986, a set of environmental laws have supervised the various interests that exist within the limits of this Conservation Unit (UC). With the advent of the National System of Conservation Units -. NSUC (Law n 9985/00) and the Creation of a mosaic of Conservation Units OS -Itatins Juréia', New regulations were added to the existing ones. In this context, the question is whether the ENTIRE System that legally protects this area, especially the NSUC, is Efficient and Effective in Protecting the Natural and Cultural Environment of the Traditional Peoples Who Inhabit this CU. The results obtained show that, despite the legislation in force, the level of conservation and protection of traditional biodiversity culture is far from that provided for by law.
