Abstract
For first-year undergraduate students in areas related to the environment, field activity is an important tool to encourage observation of the natural and built landscape. A class methodology divided into three days is proposed: explanation of the activity, fieldwork in groups and discussion in class with the support of graphic material produced by students based on perceptions on the paths. To evaluate the method, a route was defined and the proposed field form was used. After gathering the data, it was possible to notice that some stops had very similar characteristics, recommending increasing the distance between them for greater diversity of observations. The study showed the effectiveness of the form in stimulating perception and the importance of discussing interpretations of the landscape.
