Abstract
Brazil, in addition to being one of the largest agricultural producers in the world, also highlights the productive banana culture, which is one of the most consumed foods on the planet and which consequently requires the constant use of pesticides, as a form of protection and productive improvements. Therefore, the present study was developed in municipalities in the State of São Paulo that have considerable levels of banana production: Itariri and Pedro de Toledo, cities located on the southern coast of the State. This research was carried out using our own collection instrument, applied to 23 banana producers, in July 2016, adopting a methodology that took into account the disposal of pesticide packaging and current legislation, established in the National Solid Waste Policy. The research results demonstrated that the vast majority of producers still do not have a management plan for solid waste resulting from their professional activities, nor do they make use of the National Solid Waste Policy - PNRS, as highlighted by Law 12,305/2010.
