Abstract
The maintenance dredging of the Ports of Paranaguá and Antonina is conditioned by the Environmental Education program, which covers the traditional fishing community of Vila São Miguel, located in the municipality of Paranaguá-PR. This community does not have a basic sanitation system and one of the proposals of the program was the preparation of a gray water filter in the school of São Miguel, through a participatory process known as a project-based approach (PBA), in order to demonstrate sustainable alternative of low cost for the treatment of this type of effluent. In order to control the efficiency, monthly monitoring of the water and soil was carried out after passing through the system, whose results showed considerable efficiency for most of the analyzed parameters.
