Abstract

Sustainability is currently a much discussed topic in civil construction regarding the use of eco-efficient materials and technologies, which can reduce water and electricity consumption and waste generation, also providing greater durability of the building, among other favorable practices to the environment. In this article, proposals for sustainable solutions for a building in the Barra do Una Sustainable Development Reserve were discussed. The chosen building is the only one in the area and visitors look for accommodation such as campsites. Due to this, it has a large flow of people looking for a little more comfort, especially tourists, as it is an RDS building, located right at the entrance to the Reserve. Awareness and actions that ensure the appropriate use of natural resources, as well as forms of reuse, are extremely important. The objective of this article is to propose solutions to the building studied, making it more sustainable and, in the medium term, achieving financial savings. For this, analyzes of the building were carried out in June 2016, recording photos and measurements of certain spaces, and proposals for constructive solutions, including the costs of installing eco-efficient equipment that would enable the reduction and reuse of resources, as well as improving comfort conditions. As a result, solutions were presented to save water and electricity in the building, including investments in rainwater cisterns, drinking fountains, tap aerators and solar heaters, which enables financial savings, in addition to contributing to the environmental education of tourists who frequent the site. and the reduction in the use of natural resources.
