Abstract
The present work aimed to carry out a photographic survey of the aquatic birdlife that occurs in the mangrove of the Juqueriquerê River, located in the city of Caraguatatuba, North Coast of São Paulo, with the aim of identifying the diversity of bird species present in the mangrove. Controlling the richness and distribution of bird species can generate information that can be used to form population models and that facilitates the understanding of population variation, including migration and habitat quality. 15 visits were made to the study site, totaling approximately 45 hours of observation. The period of greatest bird activity was observed in the morning, where 11 species were recorded distributed in 5 Orders (Charadriiformes, Coraciiformes, Gruiformes, Pelecaniformes and Suliformes) and 6 Families (Alcedinidae, Ardeidae, Phalacrocoracidae, Rallidae, Scolopacidae and Threskiornithidae) .
