Abstract

Herbariums support floristic and taxonomic studies and access to quality specimens are fundamental for understanding the geographic distribution and diversity of plants, over time and space, with important implications for research, education and plant planning. conservation actions. The SAMES herbarium, linked to the Federal University of Espírito Santo and based in the north of Espírito Santo, in the city of São Mateus (ES), in addition to supporting botanical and ecological research, has established itself as an important space for training and qualification of resources humans.
