Abstract

The RFFP herbarium is part of the UERJ-FFP collection, located in the municipality of São Gonçalo, RJ. It was created in 1997 and currently has a collection that focuses mainly on plants collected in the Atlantic Forest of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Some extension activities are carried out in partnership with the herbarium, which include short courses, lectures, guided visits and field collections in partnership with the Biology Week and the Leste Fluminense Symposium, events held periodically at UERJ-FFP. These events target internal and external undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as teachers and students from public and private state and municipal secondary and elementary schools.
