Abstract

he present paper analyzes the planning, elaboration and execution stages of three educational interventions contextualized in the relationship between trees and birds, composed of theory associated with educational games, dynamics and activities that aimed to sensitize participants to the importance of environmental conservation. Known as Tree and Bird Observation Meetings, these interventions occurred in July, August and September 2017, providing observation experiences and playful activities of environmental education for sixty-seven people of varied ages, with a focus on ornithology and botany. Satisfactory results were obtained from the perception of the active involvement of the members during the four hours of each intervention, which were divided proportionally in theoretical expositions and field practices. The participants were considered protagonists of their own learning, mediated by the focal points. The activities proved to be an efficient tool for approaching participants with socio-environmental issues of their city, such as natural heritage conservation and biodiversity preservation, urban afforestation and environmental history. The learning outcomes were positive, guaranteeing significant motivation for conscious change of attitude towards the environment.
