Abstract
The teaching of fishing gears with scale models in a public school in the Baixada Santista.
The aim of this work was to bring and maintain the knowledge of fishing and fishing gears for secondary schools in the Baixada Santista through the confection of scale models of the most used fishing gears in the region. For the study it was chosen a class of elementary education of the Canadá State School in the city of Santos-SP. With the support of a schoolarship student and two other academic volunteers of the Biological Sciences Course of UNESP-CLP, at the end of the activities, four fishing models were made in duplicate, being trawling, gillnet, castnet, trap, and also one knotboard and one hookboard. A model of each art was exposed for exhibition in the Canada State School and another one was in the campus of UNESP-CLP. The results highlighted UNESP in places where it was not known, through the dissemination of the permanent symbol of UNESP in the scale models, as well as the results in the qualification and exchanging experiences between scholarship students and volunteers students.
