Periodically, the Technical Chamber meets once a month and usually discusses different issues related to environmental education and the dissemination of the Basin Committee's actions. This special volume aims to record actions and initiatives, in favor of environmental education and the dissemination of the actions of the members of the technical chamber of the basin committee in the last decade.

Within this context, in 2018, in partnership with the Unisanta Bioscience Magazine, we presented, with a focus on extension and non-formal teaching, the Unisanta BioScience Special Edition – Volume 7, n. 5 (2018) on the environmental education actions carried out, involving aspects of the River Basin that are generally little known and little understood regarding their importance and function. The result of this dedication is presented below.

We hope that this special issue can inspire and motivate other State basin committees and their teams to initiate scientific dissemination activities, strengthening their initiatives towards municipalities, institutions and society, and most importantly, collaborating with the democratization of environmental education knowledge. .

We congratulate those involved with Environmental Education in Baixada Santista and wish everyone a great read!
