Abstract

Public awareness is the main resource for raising people's awareness regarding the proper destination and disposal of “waste”. For the population, it ceases to be a personal responsibility from the moment it is placed on the street. Santos City Hall became a pioneer by creating a law that makes Selective Collection mandatory. In this context, Estação Ambiental provides guidance to traders in the Center of Santos on the incorrect disposal of waste on public roads, in addition to publicizing the possibilities for disposing of waste. As a matter of urgency, the businesses in the city center were mapped via Google Maps and the data updated on site, for a later approach.
