Socio-environmental Education regarding the “Quem Cuida Recolhe” project developed in and around the Municipal Aquarium of Santos Gabriele Fernanda Torres, Larissa Taís Traldi Wintruff, Nyckollas Marcell Lima Garcia Albuquerque, Raquel Rodrigues da Cruz Fernandes

Abstract

The project “Who cares collects” aims to provide guidance to the population of Santos on the collection and correct disposal of domestic animal waste in order to contribute to the conservation of water resources, considering that such waste represents one of the components of diffuse pollution. The activities carried out were carried out internally and around the Santos Aquarium, promoting socio-environmental campaigns for the visiting public, as well as the surrounding community, who have pets. It is expected, at the end of the project implementation, that appropriate actions will continue on the part of the population, including replacing the use of plastic collectors with collectors made from paper, providing a reduction in diffuse pollution and an improvement in the bathing ability of the municipality's beaches.
