Two decades of Environmental Education in Praia Grande-SP: a study of the region's ecosystems and its water resources Eliane Aparecida Milani de Queiroz, Simony Feichas Renó

Abstract

In this report we sought to cover some of the environmental education activities that are developed in the municipality of Praia Grande – SP, by the DEA - Department of Environmental Education of the Department of Education, which in particular are related to ecosystems and good practices of use and environmental conservation of the municipality’s water resources. Some of the recent municipal programs are briefly listed in the text, among several other equally important Environmental Education programs, already developed over the last two decades, developed by a team of specialist and multidisciplinary teachers over the last two decades: Legal Citizen; Enchant; vegetable garden; Come bird; The Sea is ours; Environmental citizenship; Therapeutic nursery. A more detailed characterization is given to the Praia Grande Natural project whose results have informed about the importance of ecosystems in the preservation of water resources for the public of 8th year elementary school students (in the form of regular courses), as well as the community (in the form of separate classes).
