Main Article Content
Abstract
The insect group is the largest and most diverse group among all other animal groups due to its evolutionary success. This is mainly because the adults are mobile, in many cases having wings that allow the encounter of new environments and food, as well as help to prevent predation. Although many insects cause disease, they play a very important role in balancing the environment. This review paper aims to provide information on the main characteristics of the Hexapoda subphylum and the most relevant orders. Also, quickly address the economic, medicinal and ecological importance of the group in general. The used method was bibliographic research in specific and general academic books and scientific articles.
