Abstract
The term fouling is given to the fouling aquatic community on the surface of artificial substrates, where ecological succession is established and developed. These communities come from the larval production of plankton, brought by sea currents or by ballast water from vessels. The study of benthic organisms fouling submarine substrates has gained great relevance in recent years due to the economic damages caused in different constructions (ports, platforms, submarine cables of Internet, etc.), as well as, for its great potential for studies on bioinvasion and competition . The objective of this work was to analyze the efficacy of different anti-fouling treatments by covering ceramic support plates, comparing data related to the pilot work carried out in November / December 2016, with the coating of Rodophites (red algae). The current one, made based on Tanino and based on this study we added another place of study. In these coatings were mixed glass fiber and resin, macerated with Tannin-containing plant extracts, banana bark (Musa sp) and Sun Hat leaves (Terminalia cattapa), analyzing the growth of marine organisms and quantifying the Treatments, T. cattapa, Musa sp and control over a three - month period in the region of Vicente de Carvalho - Guarujá and Japuí - São Vicente. The fouling organisms on the plaques were identified - 16 animal groups in the Guarujá region and seven groups of animals in the São Vicente region, to the lowest possible taxonomic level, since some individuals were very young, making it impossible to identify species. We also observed the development, volume, fresh weight, dry weight and ash of the fouling organisms in each treatment for the comparison of these descriptors in the different treatments through ANOVA. Concluding that the treatment was effective to combat fouling only in its first 15 days, but that after the fortnightly period does not guarantee anti-fouling effect, because beings after 45 days start to grow on other newly embedded beings and not on the Substrate repellent.
