Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the physicochemical, microbiological and organoleptic parameters of the waters of the Jundiaí River and to compare with the standards established for waters of class 3 of CONAMA Resolution 357/2005. Materials and methods: A sample of water from the Jundiaí River was collected near UNIP Jundiaí (coordinates -23.169259, -46.920450). This sample was analyzed using Alfakit® Ecokit II, which is a fast, practical, simple and objective method developed for water quality control. Results: The Jundiaí river water sample presented discrepancies in relation to the standards established by class 3 of CONAMA Resolution 357/2005 for orthophosphate, Escherichia coli and floating bodies. Conclusion: The physicochemical, microbiological and organoleptic parameters that presented disagreement highlight the possibility of irregular sewage and the need for more effective monitoring.
