Abstract

The herbarium SHPR, of the Federal University of Technology – Paraná, campus Santa Helena, was founded in 2019 and is the newest in the state recognized in the Index Herbariorum. Its collection currently consists of ca. 2,500 specimens of vascular plants, with an initial separate collection of macroscopic fungi and carpotheca. The herbarium collection is mainly comprised by plants from the Seasonally Semideciduous Forests of western Paraná and inland São Paulo. The SHPR collection is 100% available for online consultation through several databases, such as SpeciesLink, GBIF, SiBBr and JaBot. The herbarium supports local floristic surveys, guides projects at graduate and postgraduate levels, and is opened to partnership with other institutions by sharing specimens and donating duplicates.
