Abstract
The study aimed to investigate whether urban parks are suitable areas for housing local birdlife, making it possible to identify potential problems and solve them, so that these areas can be used in the best possible way for bird conservation. To this end, incursions were carried out in the Municipal Ecological Parks, Anthero dos Santos and Águas do Barão, in the cities of Guaratinguetá-SP and Lorena-SP, respectively. Using a methodology of listening points and materials to aid in identification, 76 species from 34 families were observed interacting directly with the parks, using them as a living area or as a stopping point, with 73 species identified in the Guaratinguetá park and 44 species in the Lorena park. Thus, showing that despite the urbanization around them being quite present, the parks are useful for housing several species that use them for many of their life activities, and can be used in environmental protection programs.
