Environmental analysis (flora, fauna and ecology) of the area known as Mato do Júlio, in the municipality of Cachoeirinha, RS Vladimir Stolzenberg Torres, Vlanilda Oliveira da Luz

Abstract

Environmental knowledge, through field diagnoses, constitutes an important tool for the development of public policies for education and management of green areas. Thus, the present study aimed to carry out a diagnosis of the flora, fauna and environmental aspects of an area known as "Mato do Júlio", in the municipality of Cachoeirinha, RS. The results obtained reveal the occurrence of 75 plant species and 113 animal species. More studies, however, must be carried out, since the records made may be underestimated due to the short period of time for the campaigns.
