LIQUID BIOPSIES AND THEIR ROLE IN CANCER DIAGNOSIS Carla Silene Corralo Rodrigues

Main Article Content

Abstract

The literature review topic in this article deals with liquid biopsies, an innovative technique that is based on the analysis of body fluids, such as blood, to detect fragments of circulating tumor DNA. Biomarkers are presented in the literature and include a variety of biological components such as circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), RNA, specific proteins and circulating tumor cells (CTCs). Liquid biopsies offer remarkable promise for improving clinical outcomes through earlier detection and continuous monitoring, facilitating a more precise therapeutic response tailored to each patient's individual needs.
