Abstract

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) comprise the most frequent pathologies in Brazil and in the world. Adolescence encompasses, on average, the age group comprising the period between 10 and 19 years of age, being marked by several physical and mental transformations in which there are great risks of contracting STIs, especially due to early sexual initiation. In this way, the school plays a significant role in the discussion of such issues for the formation and sensitization of these adolescents, thereby providing, through the constructed knowledge, the health of their network of social relationships - their community. In this context, this study aimed to approach, in the context of the school environment, in a preventive way, sexually transmitted infections. A didactic sequence consisting of 3 moments was applied, totaling 7 classes, with a sample group the second year class of night high school, from a school in the state network Rio Grande do Sul, in the year 2022. The steps of the didactic sequence included the investigative process and the autonomy of the student in this pedagogical process. Regarding the investigative approach, the students showed satisfactory results on the teaching-learning process of the STIs theme, evidencing development in their autonomy and protagonism, evidenced by the quality of the banners produced and, with this, allowing a reflection on the possible use of the sequence didactics, as well as its scope, limitations and importance in the educational process.
