The activity aimed to develop diverse skills and promote a critical approach to dealing with complex issues. In the research carried out at Quilombo do Ivaporandura, the focus was on challenges such as food security and access to adequate public policies. During the study, students conducted unsystematic observations, providing insights into the community and its challenges. In addition, the thick description technique allowed for an in-depth interpretation of the local culture. The fieldwork also revealed the students’ meticulous planning in data collection, highlighting its importance for practical learning and the development of critical skills.
