Abstract

Environmental restoration actions are of unquestionable importance in the face of environmental degradation. This article aims to evaluate the initial design stage of environmental recovery of the Atlantic Forest degraded by continued human action (agriculture and livestock) in the Guandu Sapê Naval Complex, Rio de Janeiro, RJ. As monitoring parameters for evaluation were chosen aspects of plant health and resistance to grass (Panicum maximum Jacq.). Measurement plots of planted areas between April and July 2014. In the results was accomplished was done analysis of extreme values ​​and performed normality test (Jarque-Bera, 1980). The results showed five species ((Schinus terebinthifolia, Caesalpinia ferreaEugenia unifloraBixa orellanaSyagrus romanzoffiana e Cecropia hololeuca) with better indicators and, additionally, the importance of water availability.
