Methodology for field surveys: taking the example of collective housing "slums" in the central city of Santos. Ana Paula dos Santos Nascimento

Abstract

The city of Santos though rising vertically and its buildings over the years, still has a significant number of substandard tenements, the famous "slums" that are scattered in the central region of the neighborhoods Paquetá, Vila, Vila Mathias Centre. The Alegra Center Housing Program, which is part of the Municipality with the students and teachers at Santa Cecilia University have teamed up to carry out surveys and proposals for improvement of these buildings. The following work shows how they were made field surveys, which the methodology used as well as the beginning of the proposals. Whereas in these studies were taken into consideration and implementation of green areas and recreational areas, improving the quality of life and increasing the biodiversity of the region.
