Abstract

Water is an essential element to the numerous forms of life and their quality can affect the health of themselves . Several tests both physical, chemical and the biological seek to translate the quality of aquatic environments using parameters established by law. Therefore, it is necessary in the first stage the sample material to be analyzed , or water. This process can sometimes be taken as simplistic and easy to perform , if performed incorrectly , without a technique done by unskilled and professional orientation may influence the results to be obtained by subsequent trials leading to erroneous analysis of the actual state of waterbody . This work aims to provide a roadmap of activities to be performed by students of biological sciences bringing theoretical foundations and practical means of addressing the various sampling surface waters based on national and international protocols providing bases for proper and safe collections in order to characterize environmental quality.
