Abstract

A field study was conducted to record the pioneer plant species at three locations recently vacated, in a fragment of Atlantic Forest. 135 individuals were collected, representing 18 families, with 23 species, each one represented by one genus. The most representative families were Araceae, Asteraceae, Poaceae and Solanaceae, with two species each. Among the species collected, four are trees, four are shrubs or subshrubs, one is climbing, an is epiphyte and most (13) are herbaceous.
