Abstract

Two trawls were made in February 2012. In the first withdrawal was a subsample of 186 seven-bearded shrimp and the second one with 194 subjects, a total of 380 individuals. The shrimp Xiphopenaeus kroyeri (Heller, 1862) (Decapoda: Dendrobranchiata: Penaeidae) is the third most important fishing resource of the São Paulo coast, behind only the corvina and sardine-true. In the present work a study was made of the growth of females and males of X. kroyeri to compare them. It was concluded that females have a higher growth than males.
