Abstract
Despite the ecological and economic importance of the mangrove, this ecosystem has been the constant target of impactful actions, which is why the development of ecological awareness has been noted, which seeks the solution to this issue in environmental education. The present work was developed with the aim of identifying the perceptions of students (aged 10 to 13) in the 6th and 7th years, about the mangrove, before and after an educational action. To this end, educational materials were prepared and questionnaires with five objective questions addressing the mangrove (ecosystemic condition and importance) were administered to 153 students from the Regina de Mello State College located in Paranaguá – PR, and to 80 people from the local community in relation to their knowledge. about the study ecosystem.
