Abstract

This article presents a study on the feasibility of implementing a sustainable university center in Praia Grande (SP), called Ecocampus Litoral Paulista. The research is motivated by the urban growth of the Metropolitan Region of Baixada Santista, which presents opportunities and challenges in aligning with sustainable development, and by the shortage of public higher education institutions. The objective was to investigate how the integration between sustainable architecture and environmental education can contribute to technical training and social awareness. The methodology involved bibliographic survey, document analysis, case studies, technical visits, and field research. The results indicated that the adoption of sustainable architectural practices, combined with innovative pedagogical methodologies and inclusive urban design, favors the reduction of environmental impacts and the strengthening of regional development. It is concluded that the Ecocampus Litoral Paulista is a viable educational infrastructure alternative to integrate teaching, innovation, and sustainability
