Abstract

The objective of the study was to verify the perception of barriers and facilitators of the work of obstetric physiotherapists in maternity hospitals. A cross-sectional observational study was carried out, described in a qualitative and quantitative manner. 50 female physiotherapists participated and 82% work in private maternity hospitals. As for facilitators, it was reported that there are many physiotherapists working (86%) and that maternity wards offer necessary resources (62.3%). How many obstacles were reported regarding the lack of knowledge of the multidisciplinary team, difficulty in entering hospitals and limits of professional performance. We conclude that the barriers are the difficulty in registering the hospital and limits of action and facilitators autonomy and good working conditions
